about

From Side Line Magazine -

Mikela Jay has recently written and recorded a brand new track entitled "Far Too Many" in a production by Fat Benjamin (Andy Callaby) from the UK. The song was created within a week - Andy sent Mikela the raw track and she recorded her vocals. The song has not been mastered, though they have chosen to release it as is into the world. Fans of Massive Attack and related acts will surely love this one.

Says Mikela : "The song is somewhat anthemic, addressing the prevalent amount of violence happening in the news media worldwide. Reminiscent of Bjork & Madonna in sound, the song speaks to anyone feeling oppressed by the level of destruction we each may be feeling these days."

far too many
(lyrics by mikela jay, music produced by fat benjamin)

there's been far far far too many

far too many men dictating
far too many men complaining
far too many women hating
far too many men berating
far too many disappearing
far too many without hearing
far too many live in fear & there’s too many too many…

time to take it over, cover me...

i can’t ignore this silence
i can’t ignore this rising up
i can’t ignore the sirens
i can’t ignore this rising up
i can’t ignore the violence
i can’t ignore this rising up
i can’t ignore this state we’re in
i can’t ignore…

far far far too many…

far too many men dictating
far too many men complaining
far too many women hating
far too many men berating
far too many disappearing
far too many without hearing
far too many live in fear & there’s too many too many…

about

Fat Benjamin Norwich

Norwich based Fat Benjamin, aka Andrew Callaby’s electronic creations have often been described as ‘moody’ and ‘ambient’ – and it’s this combination which nicely bridges the gap between Autechre and Lamb.
